Grill Cleaning with Sodium Hydroxide
Cooking on the barbecue grill is a beautiful thing. Who doesn’t love a good barbeque? What we don’t love is the clean-up afterward. That beautiful Juicy burger’s grease residue will build up over time, and even though you do a quick, simple wipe, it doesn’t clean it to perfection. Over time, your grill will start looking like a dirty nightmare. We have the perfect simple cleaning solution.
At Florida Laboratories, we have created a quick and easy recipe using Sodium Hydroxide as the vital ingredient to bring your grill back to life.
This recipe is safe and non-toxic, but we still recommend always wearing gloves and safety goggles.
You will be preparing a 10% solution with our method. You will need a plastic container and a spray bottle.
Ingredients:
- 100gr of Sodium Hydroxide
- Four cups of cold water.
Directions:
Pour the sodium Hydroxide and the water into your plastic container and slowly stir.
You will notice that this mix will heat up as you stir. The reason for this is because of the chemical reaction of the sodium hydroxide and the water.
The final step will be to pour it into your spray bottle. Now you are ready to spray your grill. Let the sodium Hydroxide solution marinate on your grill for about 20 minutes before wiping it up and letting it dry.
